becoming a Craftinista?

In my quest for being the world worst homemaker, I decided I should try and craft….at least a little. Let’s be honest- to attempt to be the perfect Martha Stewart Wife would really just be setting myself up for imminent failure. SO instead, I own the fact that I will dabble in the domestic arts and hope that maybe one day I will have the time to devote to them.

Until then, I am still trying to figure out what I even like doing.

So this holiday season I got ambitious. Dareth has been taking about hosting a craft night. I have been looking for a reason to try to make some of the things I pinned. So I was all for it! Especially since my last craft project was a TOTAL fail.

Except I didn’t make anything I pinned…why does it always work out like that?

Instead I spent hours looking for the perfect stalking to make For Christmas. And once we did, We were both sold.

We picked out fabrics we liked. I went for more reto looking stuff. Knowing that Adam bought me a Gold Tinsel Tree for next year!!! CANT WAIT!!!Oh Next Christmas can't get here soon enough!

The first Craft night was a lot of fun. Sarah came too! And Dareth’s ACTUALLY crafty Friend Dani. We cut. Ironed. Pinned and sewed. While Dani Scrap-booked and Sarah worked on a block set.
Can you see this picture? I only can in IE and its weirding me out....

It was fun. Mostly because it was a reason to get together. Which doesn’t seem like we do enough.

I was on a crafting high, since this project WORKED! So Dareth and I got even more ambitions and bought fabric for several scarf projects.

Needless to say, craft night 2.0 was a slightly  (OK a ton) less successful. I made Adam a scarf at least!

Now I just need to commander my mom’s good sewing machine….Muah ah ah ah aha….that would make all these projects so much easier.

New plan….I’ll keep you updated on how that goes.

  3. I make almost all the gift I give in the year, but take a major break at Christmas. (And I totally suck at sewing.) The stockings came out well. And good lick with your future craft nights! There is nothing like the feeling of making something'
