Klout: is it really all its cracked up to be?

When I first saw links to klout on twitter I was curious. WHAT IS this newfangled way to rank my self like an insecure highschooler- I MUST be a part of it
So I joined, more out of curiosity than anything else.
Then Emmie, Liz & I were determined to crack the klout code and get super important

I am beginning to think its not all its cracked up to be. Topics that are supposed to refresh weekly, yeah ummm...try once a month. And scores that bounce all over the place?

I figured when I took my facebook fast for a week I would see a dip in my score. I dropped 4 points. Ok fine. BUT to be bouncing around like that...really?
Can I really be influential one moment and the next literally drop in credibility the next? Seems a little odd. I have a broad readership who are pretty loyal.

They stuck out my blog fast.
I promise great content coming soon.

They comment on my facebook.
Engage with me on twitter.

What else do you want KLOUT???

  • Are you on Klout?
  • What are your thoughts on its credibility?

    REWIND: Our Ethiopian Wedding Celebration

Thank you FACEBOOK for this little beauty:
I had just sent Adam a text reminding him of our Ethiopian Wedding Celebration. & there was my little facebook reminder.

This day last year was a lavish celebration of love. A celebration of culture and customs and the joining of two worlds. When Adam and I decided to marry I was really nervous about how we could combine all the culture and customs of our two lives.

It almost seemed an insurmountable task.

We weren't sure if we would marry in Ethiopian, then celebrate and be sealed in the  LDS Temple in the US. Or if Adam didn't get his visa, we planned to go to the Philippines, where on of my best friends Parents were serving a mission. We fasted and prayed for his visa to come through. That we could be married where my mom could attend.

So we had a traditional celebration before leaving the country. IT was amazing. Adam's mother Yeshi worked tirelessly for days preparing the feast.

    Photobucket

The whole neighborhood came together to help cook for days. Chopping [onion/potatoes/peppers/tomatoes/meat] and everything else you could imagine.  HOURS family and friends gave to help cut meat, cook injera, wat, veggies, spaghetti, treats and everything else.

    We were stuffed.
We were in good company. All of Adams siblings took two days off work to come to town to celebrate with us. Adams university friends came in from all over. My coworkers took a public taxi on a 4 hour drive to make it up! it was amazing.

We were showered with traditional gives. We listened to cultural music & they even forced me to dance.....

    video

    It was an amazing day.
    To celebrate our love.
    To celebrate our culture.
To say goodbye to friends and family.
To send us off with well wishes for our marriage and new life.

    Hey Adam,
This has been the most amazing year of my life. Its been a joy to start our life here together in the US. I love you more now then I ever could have imagined that day. Thank you for loving me. For accepting me into your life and your family and your RICH heritage. I am so blessed to be a part of it all.

We would be doing the same thing in real life anyways

The beauty of Skype or FB skype, is that I can still hang out with my little sister even though she moved away.

YES i always make crazy faces when I skype.

It looked just like it would if she were sitting on my couch.
    FBstalking.
    blogging.
    looking at random websites.
    emails
    joking
    &talking.

Isnt that the beauty of the internet age? It connects us no matter where we are. Skype kept me and theMR. In touch across oceans. We use facebook/skype to keep up with our family overseas.

& now even with my sister in logan.

AND THATS WHY YOU ALWAYS LEAVE A LIST!

so glad her access to my Netflix is getting her caught up on all my favorites.

    Letters to the Universe

    Dear Life,
When did things get so crazy?
Was it when I took a blog break?
    When I got Married?
When I took a new job?
I don't know when, but I am trying to navigate it all.

    DEAR string cheese,
you are a great little snack. Thanks for existing.

    Dear New Job,
I WILL rock you. Seriously, I will. I am just gearing up for it all.

    Dear Target,
I LOVE your back to school teacher commercials. Makes me wish I needed to buy a new back pack and a cart full of school supplies.

    Dear Facebook,
I have a love/hate relationship with you. So easy to stay a member. So much want to cut my ties. I am torn. I guess these next few weeks will make a difference.

    Dear mismatched schedules,
I can't wait for the day when theMR. and I have the same days off and similar hours. That will be an awesome day.

Dear Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream,
I just a bag of you on accident. WHY are you SO addictive?

    Dear iPhone,
so glad I get a work phone and can graduate off my ghetto phone and boostmobile. THOUGH I love boostmobile. If I ever am not on a corp phone, I would take you back in a minute!

    #roughweekinprovo

I am so glad Friday has arrived.
    This week has been hard.
Might be the worst one yet.

So when my lil sister gifted me the most amazing SPRINKLED animal cookies, it made my week.

    Literally.
I ate them all for breakfast this morning & loved every bite.

Things you might not know about me:
    • I LOVE camels. Adam once promised me we could have a camel as a pet. That was when we thought we would live in ETHIOPIA! How awesome would that have been? Camels are like super expensive.

    • I once got peed on by a lion.
Those two facts are why she bought me that specific box of cookies.
    Thanks Morgitu!

    Happy Friday.

    expressions of love.

I am lucky to be married to a man who has no problem showing expressions of love. Romance is not what I thought it would be, I probably saw one too many princess movies growing up.

In real life though, romance is so much better than I thought.

    How Adam shows his love:
    washing the dishes
    opening my car door
    cleaning the house
    calling me silly pet names.
    snuggling me in bed
    reading me bedtime stories
surprising me with a dinner out
calling me in the middle of the day to say he misses me
    loving text messages.
going grocery shopping with me (i hate to go alone and he hates to come)
    getting popcorn at the movies
    complimenting me
dancing with me in the house
Letting me blame him when I don't want to do something me.
