BTS look at our conference weekend

This is Adam's second time to help translate and interpenetrate the LDS General conference.

Last year, I was SUPER sick and we stayed at Grants Empty apartment in SLC to cut down on the commute. I {FORCED} theMR. to take some pictures of the translation booth and the other translators. You can catch up on there here

This time around I got a little saavy.
I used priceline to score us a hotel room in SLC.
I wanted to be able to lay in a nice bed. Be comfortable. RELAX. Blog between sessions. I also wanted to be able to pick Adam up and get back to our resting place in 10 minutes or less.

So far its been REALLY nice to be up here instead of commuting OR camping out on an air mattress that deflates!

 So Far, so GOOD!

Top: Celina & Adam in their Hotel room at the Hilton, theMR. bothere by yet ANOTHER picture; Adam showing off our room; Overnight bag, Ensign & Connect4.

Middle: My amazing necklace; ORANGE crush at the new Ethiopian restaurant; Adam practicing his talks outloud on the way to the conference center.

Bottom: Adam & Kaya! Isn't the little one a cutie! We might be tempted to make babies sooner now that we have seen Carolyn & Biya's little one; THE NEW ETHIOPIAN Restaurant in SLC is sooooooo much better. Adam and I pigged out; theMR. full and happy!

We totally pigged out at the Ethiopian Restaurant. It was fun to see our friends, talk about the temple announcements and for Adam to speak Amharic with Biya.We chalked it up to translation prep.

We are more than excited about the SECOND PROVO TEMPLE!!! That is going to be awesome. We are also excited about the growth of the church on the African continent. We hope that when the time comes for a temple is East Africa that it lands its self in Ethiopia. More specifically, in the GIANT new building the Church is building in Debre Zeit, Adam's home town!

We happen to think it looks A LOT LIKE the rendering of the Philadelphia, PA temple....

I've been sending silent payers up all day for all the BTS people who make conference happen. The hundreds of translators who volunteer their time and energy and talents to make sure that the messages of our Prophet can be heard and understood by people the world over.

It is amazing to see Adam work on his translation.
the HOURS of work
The dedication.
The anguish over getting the words JUST right.
Perfect.
The weight of the responsibility he bears twice a year to be the voice of our Heavenly Father.

Even though I only observe, its a neat experience to be a part of. I am grateful my husband is willing to give so much of himself to help our brothers and sisters on the other side of the world. &For my Brother in Law Tyler, who covered Adam's shifts at work so he could be here in Salt lake.

If you get a minute, send some prayer his way and for all the other translators and interpreters.

Happy Conference!

It really exciting for him to be involved, and blessing for our little family.
